Paraguay is a
landlocked country comparable in size to California. The population
is about 6.2 million, 70% of whom live within 100 miles of the capital of
Asuncion. Guarani and Spanish are both official languages.
Although 80% of the people profess to be Roman Catholic, with about 30%
practicing, there is great liberty to present the Gospel.
"Evangelicals" or believers are estimated at nearly 15% and 5 or
6% in various cults. There are about 100 assemblies in the country.
